What does a chargeback success fee actually cost you?
A success fee feels free, because you only pay it when you win. Put your own numbers in and it stops feeling free — on a $1,000 dispute, a 25% fee is $250, every time, with no monthly cap.

How the maths works
Recovered revenue per year is disputes × 12 × average amount × win rate. A success fee takes its percentage of that. Flat pricing takes $29 × 12 = $348 regardless of outcome.
The break-even is lower than most people expect. At a 25% fee, flat pricing wins as soon as you recover more than about $116 a month. One won $500 dispute pays for four months of a flat subscription.
The honest counter-argument: flat pricing costs the same in a month where you win nothing, and a success fee costs zero. If your dispute volume is very low and sporadic, "pay only when you win" genuinely can be cheaper. The calculator above will show you that — set the win rate to 0 and the flat number doesn't move.
