Shopify chargeback apps without success fees: what actually exists in 2026
Most chargeback apps on the Shopify App Store take a percentage of every dispute they help you win — typically 15–25% of the recovered amount, and Stripe's own Smart Disputes takes 30%. If you'd rather pay a predictable monthly price and keep 100% of what you recover, your options are fewer. Here's the honest map.
The success-fee standard, for context
| App | Model | Price (public pricing, Aug 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Chargeflow | % of recovered | 25% per won dispute |
| Disputifier | % of recovered | 20% per won dispute |
| Stripe Smart Disputes | % of recovered | 30% per won dispute |
| Chargeblast | hybrid | 15% recovery + per-alert fees |
A success fee feels free until you win. On a $1,000 dispute, a 25% fee is $250 — every time, with no monthly cap. Run your own numbers here if you want to see what that adds up to at your volume.
The flat-fee options
1. Evidkit — $29/mo, no success fee, nothing submitted without your approval
AI drafts the evidence from your store's own order, shipping, and customer data; you review, edit, and approve before anything goes to the bank. Evidkit never touches your money — no refunds, no billing on your behalf, no percentage of anything. 14-day free trial. Disclosure: this is our product.
2. ChargePay — from $19.99/mo
Flat monthly tiers by Shopify plan. The philosophy is the opposite of ours: it auto-submits responses without a review step. If you want hands-off automation and you're comfortable with that, it's the cheaper anchor in this category.
3. DisputeDesk — from $29/mo plus response packs
Flat subscription with pack-based usage and an optional review mode. A newer entrant (launched May 2026), so there's less track record to go on than the incumbents.
How to actually choose
- High volume, never want to look at a case: a flat auto-submit tool is cheapest per case.
- You want to be in the loop before anything is filed in your name: pick a tool with a mandatory approval step. That is the entire design premise of Evidkit, and it's a deliberate constraint, not a missing feature.
- You'd rather pay only when you win: at low and sporadic dispute volume, 20–30% of recovered revenue can genuinely work out cheaper, and the incumbents are mature products with large review bases.
What we won't claim: win rates. Card issuers decide outcomes, and any app that promises a percentage is promising something it doesn't control. What a good tool controls is evidence quality and deadline discipline — which is a smaller promise, and a real one.
